The population in the study were 231 new registered tuberculosis patients with pulmonary tuberculosis infection in Samutprakarn province who were treated and cured. The tool used in data collection was questionnaires. The statistics used in data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, cross table analysis, chi-square test. The relationships were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient.
The study revealed that self-care behavior of tuberculosis patients is in high level. The factors associated with self-care behaviors of patients with tuberculosis are health belief in aspect of perception of risk of the disease, perception of severity of the disease, perception of the advantage of treatment and general health motivation are positively related to self-care behavior of tuberculosis patients statistically significant (p-value <0.01). The perception of difficulties in practice is negatively related to self-care behavior of tuberculosis patients statistically significant (p-value <0.01). The social support is positively related to self-care behavior of tuberculosis patients statistically significant (p<0.01).
The suggestion from the study is to enhance social support by allowing family and patient’s relative to participate in the treatment and care of patients.
2025-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 STRONG AND HEALTHY JOURNAL https://he04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/SAHJ/article/view/2616 Participatory management that affects the efficiency of primary health services among public health personnel in Satun Province 2025-02-11T22:13:29+07:00 Thanakorn Thanakorn Sa-nga Ban Khok pc.yogty@gmail.com Nisarat Sakchainan nisarat01334@gmail.com Phatthamanas Chotmaneewathana pc.yogty@gmail.com
The objectives of this research are 1) to study the efficiency of primary health care system services by public health personnel. 2) to study the participatory management of primary health care systems by public health personnel. 3) to study the relationship between factors in Participatory management and the efficiency of primary health system services among public health personnel. The sample group was personnel working in primary health system agencies. The sample group consisted of personnel working in primary health system agencies. A total of 204 people were obtained through systematic random sampling. The quality of the tool was checked by 5 experts. The index of consistency (IOC) was equal to 0.98 and the confidence value (Reliability) was equal to 0.95. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation, and statistics use stepwise multiple regression statistics.
The majority of the sample were female. Accounting for 51.96 percent, they were between 20-30 years old, accounting for 42.60 percent. Most of their education levels were bachelor's degrees. Accounting for 89.20%, the service efficiency of primary level personnel The overall average score for all aspects was at a high level (Mean=3.43, S.D=0.82). Participatory management of personnel. The average score in all areas was at a high level (Mean=3.50, S.D=1.08) and participation factors in decision making Participation in benefits Participation in evaluation It has an effect on the efficiency of primary health care system services by public health personnel at 43.10 percent (β =23.749, p<=0.001).
Management's suggestion should be to encourage personnel to participate in decision making. This research employs a quantitative survey methodology, using a sample of 310 individuals aged 18 years and above who have previously received services at Private Primary Care Units in Bangkok. The findings revealed that the majority of service recipients were male (56.8%), aged 36-59 years (58.7%), with secondary education/vocational certificate (32.3%), working as merchants (23.9%), and using the National Health Security coverage (52.9%). The primary motivation for seeking services stemmed from illness during travel (18.8%). Overall expectations regarding service quality were high ( =3.75, S.D.= 0.644), with information guidance, knowledge provision, and reassurance to service recipients scoring the highest average (x̄ = 3.94). Overall satisfaction with service provision was at a high level ( = 4.12, S.D. = 0.544), with continuity of care having the highest average ( = 4.15). Hypothesis testing revealed that expectations regarding reliability of medical treatment and responsiveness/demeanor significantly influenced satisfaction with services at Private Primary Care Units in Bangkok at the statistical significance level of .05.
2025-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 STRONG AND HEALTHY JOURNAL https://he04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/SAHJ/article/view/2612 Effectiveness of the pneumonia patient discharge program to reduce readmissions Pediatric Ward 2, Pediatric Department Surat Thani Hospital 2025-03-10T23:21:10+07:00 Natthanan Sawatdikul toluk.zaa@gmail.com Kamonchanok Chaungtong toluk.zaa@gmail.com Wikorn Singchantuk toluk.zaa@gmail.com
Pneumonia in children is an acute respiratory infectious disease that has been identified as a global health concern. This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare caregivers’ levels of knowledge, practices, and the incidence of readmission before and after implementing a discharge program for pediatric pneumonia patients. The sample consisted of 34 caregivers of children diagnosed with pneumonia, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a pediatric pneumonia discharge program and questionnaires covering general information, knowledge assessments, care practices, and the incidence of readmission. Content validity of the instruments was evaluated by experts using the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC), yielding a score of 0.76. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Paired Samples t-test).
Results revealed that after the intervention, the participants' mean knowledge score regarding pediatric pneumonia was significantly higher than before the intervention (t = -4.741, p = .000). Similarly, the mean score for care practices was significantly higher after the intervention compared to before (t = -11.290, p = .000). Moreover, the incidence of readmission within 28 days after discharge was found to be lower post-intervention.
The discharge program can be applied in pediatric inpatient settings to reduce readmission rates of children with pneumonia. It may also be developed into a policy for hospital departments with similar care contexts, thereby enhancing caregivers’ capacity to deliver effective and efficient medical care and supporting international standards of practice.
2025-05-05T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 STRONG AND HEALTHY JOURNAL https://he04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/SAHJ/article/view/3150 Editorial 2025-05-05T20:15:49+07:00 Asst.
