Factors influencing household waste management behavior of people in the. Thung Wa District, Satun Province

Abstract

This study has the objectives 1) to study people's knowledge, attitude and behavior in household waste management. 2) to study personal factors including gender, age, family status. Education level Occupation and number of household members, knowledge, attitude and behavior in managing household waste of the people. The sample group used in the study was people in the area responsible for Khiri Wong Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital a total of 346 people were systematically randomly selected. The instrument used in the study was a 4-part questionnaire. The consistency index was equal to 0.74, the difficulty was equal to 0.35, 0.50 and the confidence value (Reliability) for the whole version was equal to 0.73. The statistics used in data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis

              The results of the study found that the majority of the sample in the study were female. Accounting for 69.10 percent, the highest age group is between 49 years and older, accounting for 35.90 percent. Most of them have primary education. Accounting for 59.70 percent, most occupations are contract workers. Accounting for 24.20 percent The number of family members is mostly 1 - 4 people, accounting for 61.10 percent, Knowledge of separating household waste The overall average score was at a moderate level of knowledge (  = 5.74, S.D = 1.61). Attitude in separating household waste. There was a total mean score at the uncertain level (  =18.37, S.D = 3.22) behavior in separating household waste. There is a mean score included in the sometimes-practiced behavior scale (  =23.00, S.D = 4.31) and Factors regarding education level, knowledge, attitude influence the behavior of separating household waste at 43.10 percent (R²=.431, β= .748) with statistical significance at the .01 level
