Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study the levels of occupational safety knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, and to analyze the relationships among these factors among production workers in a private enterprise in Mukdahan Province. The sample consisted of 100 production workers calculated using Daniel (1995)’s formula for estimating a finite population proportion. The research instrument was a four-part questionnaire covering personal information, safety knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The results revealed that the majority of participants were male (80.00%), aged between 31–40 years (57.00%), and had previously experienced work-related accidents (91.00%), defined in this study as incidents resulting in actual injury or physical harm and excluding near-miss events. Overall, the workers demonstrated a high level of occupational safety knowledge (91.10%), a very good level of safety attitudes (Mean = 4.64), and occupational safety behavior level characterized as "always practiced" (Mean = 4.59). Correlation analysis showed that occupational safety knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors were significantly and positively correlated (p < 0.001). The strongest correlation was found between knowledge and attitudes (r = 0.628), followed by attitudes and behaviors (r = 0.578), and knowledge and behaviors (r = 0.514). These findings suggest that enhancing knowledge and fostering positive attitudes are crucial factors leading to sustainable safe work behaviors.
