Abstract

The purpose of this research is to Develop of Model for Promoting Oral Health in Preschool Children with Family and Community Participation in Child Development Center Commemorating His MajestyThe King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary of the Nong Kung Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Na Chueak District, Mahasarakham Province. It is an action research divided into 4 phases: 1) analyze the problem situation. 2) Develop a model for promoting oral health in preschool children. 3) Trial using the model. 4) Evaluate results. The main target group for the study is 60 parents of preschool children and 30 developers. Data collection tools include: General information questionnaire, Preschool dental health knowledge assessment form, Assessment of dental health attitudes in preschool children, Assessment of oral health care practices in preschool children and oral health check form for preschool children, Data analysis using numbers, Percentages, Means, Standard deviations and Content analysis.

The results of the research were mostly female, 83 percent were in the age group of 51-60 years, marital status, primary education has an agricultural career regarding relationships with children, most have relationships with children as grandparents. Regarding drinking milk in baby bottles, most still allow children to drink milk in baby bottles And most of them let children brush their own teeth. Results of the assessment of parent's knowledge of preschool children's dental health. Before providing the knowledge, the average score was 6.83 points and after providing the knowledge, the average score was 9.27 points. The results of the assessment of parent's attitudes about preschool child dental health found that after the development, the scores increased. At a very good level ( = 2.48 , SD = 0.77).The results of the evaluation of the oral health care practices of parents found that after the development there was a very good score. It is for children to brush their teeth in the morning before coming to the Child Development Center.
