Nursing Care for Pregnancy- Induced Hypertension : Case Study

Abstract

Introduction:  Pregnancy-induced hypertension is a significant complication that can result in serious effects on the mother and fetus.It is the major cause of maternal  and fetal death. Objectives: To study the implementation of nursing process in Pregnancy- Induced Hypertension.                                                                                                                                                                                     Methods: Two cases of pregnancy-induced hypertension were analyzed using the nursing process.                                               Results: Both Pregnancy-induced hypertension They shared 11 similar nursing diagnosesincluding: 1) risk of seizures due to Preeclampsia 2) risk of intracranial hemorrhage due tohigh blood pressure 3) hypermagnesemia 4)  risk of postpartum hemorrhage due to poor uterine contractions after receiving MgSO4 5) fetal distress 6) birth asphyxia 7) hyperglycemia 8)  risk of surgical site infection 9)discomfort due to wound pain 10) anxiety in patients and their relatives related to pregnancy-induced hypertension, as well as persistent high blood pressure after childbirth 11) lack of knowledge in self-care after childbirth Nursing outcomes showed that all problems were resolved. The Pregnancy-induced hypertension recovered well and were discharge from the  hospital.
