Dealing with common congenital heart disease in neonate and infant

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is a heart condition caused by structural defects in the heart. These abnormalities develop during the formation of the heart chambers and great vessels during fetal period. The incidence of congenital heart disease in newborns in Thailand is approximately 8–10 cases per 1,000 live births. CHD can range from simple to complex forms, with varying degrees of severity and a broad spectrum of clinical presentations. A thorough understanding of the disease is essential for medical professionals to facilitate effective treatment planning.
