The Opinion of Public Health Officers on the Community Primary Health Care Center in Chanthaburi Piovince

Abstract

Abstract; The purpose of this research was to study about the opinion of public health officers in Chanthaburi Province on the community primary health care center. 255 public health officers in provincial, district and subdistrict levels whose work were related with the community, were randomly selected by using the multistage sampling technique. The data were collected by self administered and mailed questionnaires, and were analyzed by using the microcomputer with the SPSS/PC* readymade program. The frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way analysis of variance and t-test were used in the data analysis. The results revealed as the following:

            Most public health officers rather agreed with the implementation of the community primary health care center. In comparison with the dependent variables under study, no significant differences in the opinion of public health officers on the community primary health care center were found in terms of educational attainment, working position, experience in government services and occupations other than the government services. The public health officers whose responsibilities were different in primary health care tasks had the statistically significant differences (p = 0.01) in the opinion on the community primary health care center. The public health officers who were partly responsible for primary health care tasks had the opinion better than who were directly responsible for primary health care tasks.
