Gingival Hyperplasia Due to Nifedipine Therapy: a case report

Abstract
Abstract: The objective of this report was to review the etiology of gingival hyperplasia. I reported a case of gingival hyperplasia due to long term usage of nifedipine in treatment of hypertension. Upon substitution nifedipine by another antihypertensive drug, the patient’s gingival size reduced. The patient was treated by scaling, root planning, and was instructed to take care of oral hygiene and plaque control, the gingival became normal without any gingival surgery.
