การวิเคราะห์ก้อนทูมต่อมน้ำลายพาโรติค ในโรงพยาบาลมหาราชนครราชสีมา ANALYSIS OF PAROTID GLAND TUMOR IN MAHARAT NAKHON RATCHASIMA HOSPITAL

Abstract

study of parotid tumor had been conducted in ENT department of Maharat Nakhonratchasima hospital between 1st of January 1989 to 3th of April 1997. Fourty-six cases were recrulted, ages ranged from 14 to 78 years. The tumors were excised and proved pathologically in all patients. Thirty-five cases (76.1%) were be-nign, eight cases were malignant (17.4%) and three were inflammation (6.5%). Among cases of benign tumors, the three common pathologies comprised 15 cases of benign mixed tumor (42.8%), 6 cases of Warthin' s tumor (17.1%) and 3 cases of the retension cysts (8.6%). The malignant tumors consisted of 3 cases of mucoepidermoid carcinoma (37.5%) the most common, 2 cases of acinic cell carcinoma ( 25.0 % ) and 1 case of adenoid cystic carcinoma (12.5%). Fourty-two cases (91.3%) were operated with superficial parotidectomy with facial nerve preservation method. The other operations were total parotidectomy with facial nerve preservation method in 3 cases (6.5%) and biopsy in 1 case (2.2%). After parotidectomy some malignant cases were treated with radiation therapy or chemotherapy. The compcation after operation was found in 5 cases, 4 were facial palsy and 1 was salivasy fistula.
