The Effectiveness of Telenursing Services for Hypertensive Elderly Care in Mueang Nong Bua Lam Phu District

This research is quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The objective is to study the effect of telenursing services for elderly hypertension in Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu District between March 2024 and October 2025. Data were collected using an assessment questionnaire. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics.
The results showed that the majority of the 126 sample individuals were female (59.5%), mostly aged between 60-69 years (44.4%), the majority had a BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 (65.9%), were heads of households (59.5%), the majority had completed primary education (64.3%), and lived at home. The majority, 40.5%, were housewives and househusbands. Self-assessment of their knowledge revealed that they had a high level of knowledge regarding medication, dosage, usage, and precautions, with an average score of 0.87 (SD = 0.32). They also had a high level of knowledge regarding attending scheduled appointments, with an average score of 0.87 (SD = 0.33). A comparison of blood pressure levels before and after using the telenursing service showed that the mean systolic blood pressure after the intervention was significantly lower after the intervention than before the intervention (p < .001). Furthermore, the mean diastolic blood pressure after the intervention was significantly lower after the intervention than before the intervention (p < .001). It is suggested that telenursing service should be used to prevent other chronic diseases with high incidence in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, and that further research should be conducted applying telenursing service to prevent other chronic diseases in at-risk groups.
