Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The article has been formatted with single-line spacing, using TH Sarabun PSK font at a size of 16 pt.
  • All text, drawings, figures, and tables have been positioned appropriately within the article, and their formatting complies with the journal's requirements.
  • The names, affiliations, telephone numbers, and email addresses of both the corresponding author and all co-authors have been provided.
  • The article has been prepared in accordance with the journal's requirements in terms of both formatting and referencing, as specified in the Author Guidelines.
  • Articles must have received approval from a human research ethics committee. In cases where formal ethics committee approval was not obtained, the author(s) must describe the measures taken to protect the rights of the sample group or target population, as the case may be, in accordance with the principles of human research ethics.
  • In the event that the author(s) have utilized artificial intelligence technology in the preparation of the manuscript, the author(s) must provide a detailed description to inform the editor of the specific sections in which artificial intelligence technology was employed in the manuscript preparation process.

Author Guidelines

Article Submission Requirements

During the submission process, the author(s) must verify and confirm compliance with all article submission requirements. Articles that do not meet the specified requirements may be returned to the author(s) for revision.

  • The article has not been previously published, nor is it currently under consideration for publication in any other journal.
  • The article has been prepared as a Microsoft Word file.
  • URLs have been provided for all references sourced from the internet.
  • The article has been formatted with single-line spacing, using TH Sarabun PSK font at a size of 16 pt.
  • All text, drawings, figures, and tables have been positioned appropriately within the article, and their formatting complies with the journal's requirements.
  • The names, affiliations, telephone numbers, and email addresses of both the corresponding author and all co-authors have been provided.
  • The article has been prepared in accordance with the journal's requirements in terms of both formatting and referencing, as specified in the Author Guidelines.
  • Articles must have received approval from a human research ethics committee. Author Guidelines

The Journal of Health Innovation and Safety is an academic journal with the objective of disseminating knowledge pertaining to academic works in the fields of science, health sciences, public health, occupational health and safety, health innovation, medicine, nursing, environment and environmental management, ecology, medical and health law, occupational health and safety law, and other related studies in the health sciences, for the benefit of students, lecturers, academics, public health professionals, professional safety officers, and environmental and safety specialists, both domestically and internationally.

The journal is published online on the journal's website three issues per year, as follows:

  • Issue 1: January – April
  • Issue 2: May – August
  • Issue 3: September – December

Types of Articles

  • Research Article (Original Article) is a report of study and research findings, comprising the following sequential components: title, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), abstract, and keywords in both Thai and English, introduction, objectives, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgements (if any), and references. The article length must not exceed 15 pages. In cases where justification exists and the content is of substantial academic interest, the journal may permit a maximum length of up to 20 pages.
  • Academic Article (Review Article) is an article written for the purpose of academic review and/or academic synthesis, comprising a compilation of works pertaining to a specific subject, particularly those previously published in other journals, through analysis, critique, and comparison in order to provide clarity to others on the subject matter. The article comprises the following components: title, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), abstract, and keywords in both Thai and English, introduction, search methodology, reviewed content, discussion, and references. The author's own commentary may also be included. The article length must not exceed 15 pages. In cases where justification exists and the content is of substantial academic interest, the journal may permit a maximum length of up to 20 pages.

Manuscript Preparation

The prescribed font and font size specifications for manuscripts are as follows: Thai manuscripts (Microsoft Word) — Font: TH Sarabun PSK, font size 16 pt. Research and academic articles should contain the following structural components and details:

  1. Title should be concise and succinct, conveying comprehensive meaning that is consistent with the objectives and content of the article. The title must be provided in both Thai and English. For the English article title, the first letter of the first word should be capitalized, with all remaining words in lowercase, except for the initial letters of proper nouns such as names of persons, diseases, places, objects, and provinces.
  2. Author Name(s) should include the full name and surname (without personal titles) and the current institutional affiliation of each author, specifying the working unit, such as division/department/faculty and institution, in both Thai and English. In cases where there are multiple authors from different institutions, superscript numbers should be placed after the surname and before the respective institutional affiliation in both Thai and English to indicate correspondence between authors and affiliations.
  3. Corresponding Author Contact Information
    Please provide the full name and email address of the corresponding author, with an asterisk (*) placed as a superscript after the surname in both Thai and English. If the author does not designate a corresponding author, the journal will designate the author who submitted the article as the corresponding author.
  4. Abstract should be written in concise, complete sentences in prose form, not exceeding 350 words (one paragraph), comprising the following components: introduction (significance and background), objectives, methodology, results, and discussion. No structural headings are required, and no in-text reference citations should be included within the abstract. The abstract must be written in both Thai and English.
  5. Keywords should not exceed five keywords, separated by commas (,), placed at the end of the abstract in both Thai and English.
  6. Introduction should describe the significance of the research problem at both the macro and micro levels, including relevant facts, statistical data, citations of statistical sources from studies on the same topic, and references to other related studies, leading to the stated objectives.
  7. Objectives should be stated as individual items, comprehensively covering all aspects of the study.
  8. Methodology should describe the study design, setting, population and sample, sampling method, study approach, instruments and equipment utilized, data collection instruments such as questionnaires and tests, instrument quality validation, data collection procedures, data analysis methods and statistical tests employed, and approval obtained from the Human Research Ethics Committee.
  9. Results should describe the findings of each component, presenting only essential tables or charts. The font used within tables must be TH Sarabun PSK at a size of 14 pt., with explanations of significant figures provided as necessary. 
  10. Discussion should address the findings in relation to theoretical frameworks and prior research, any inconsistencies identified in relation to theory and other studies, and recommendations for further investigation to obtain more definitive answers.
  11. Practical Applications (if any)
  12. Acknowledgements (if any) should briefly express gratitude to benefactors, affiliated institutions, or individuals who have provided academic and financial support for the research.

Manuscript Submission and Receipt

  • Articles submitted for publication must be submitted through the journal's website at https://he04.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/JHIS
  • Article files must be prepared exclusively in Microsoft Word, with formatting and section headings in accordance with the journal's requirements. All accompanying illustrations must be included within the same file.
  • Articles submitted for publication in the Journal of Health Innovation and Safety must include at least one citation of a previously published article from the journal.
  • When submitting revised files following revisions made in accordance with the reviewer's recommendations, the author(s) must highlight all sections that have been revised accordingly. If the author(s) wish to respond to the reviewer's comments, such responses must be prepared as a separate file from the revised manuscript and saved in Microsoft Word format.
  • For accepted manuscripts, the Editorial Board will notify the author(s) of acceptance and will submit the article to a minimum of two reviewers for consideration, without disclosing the identities of either the author(s) or the reviewers (Anonymous Reviewer/Anonymous Author). In cases where the author(s) request three reviewers, this must be indicated at every instance of article submission for consideration.
  • For manuscripts that are not accepted for publication or are rejected, the Editorial Board will notify the author(s) and provide the reasons for rejection. The original manuscript will not be returned, and publication fees will not be refunded.
  • Regarding publication consideration, a manuscript will be accepted for publication when at least one out of two, or two out of three reviewers, as the case may be, recommend it for publication.
