ประเมินผลโครงการให้คำปรึกษาปัญหาโรคเอดส์ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ (Evaluation on AIDS Counselling Project, Buriram Province)

Abstract

The study aimed at evaluation of AIDS counselling project. Persons, places, materials and educational medias were assessed. Problems, obstacles, reasons for no contact at health center were determined. Samples were health care providers in health centers and community hospital who had been trained on AIDS counselling and people who came to those health care facilities. Date collection was done during July-September, 1997 by using interview and observation techniques. Simple statistical analysis ie: percentage, and means were used to describe findings of the study. The finging showed that the samples (305 person) were working in community hospitals (35.4 %) and in health centers (64.6 %). Most of them were women with 32 years old in average, and 68.9% of them did counselling with the patients. The counsellors in community hospitals worked more than the counsellors in the health centers. Followings are the results of evaluation; 1 Counselling process: passed standard only 2 criteria ie; adequacy of educational medias and time usage on counselling. 2. Counselling technique: did not pass standard. 3. Reason for on contact at health center: did not pass standard. 4. Outcome: did not pass standard. In conclusion, finding of the study showed several criteria did not pass the standard. This was because the goal standard were quite high quality. However, it is shown that there are at least counselling process and HIV clinics had been conducted in every community hospitals. Further improvement should be taken under strong support from the administrators.
