ENHANCING INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY IN THE THAI PUBLIC SECTOR THROUGH THE ITA TOOL: A STUDY OF THE NATIONAL ASSESSMENT RESULTS FROM FISCAL YEARS 2020 – 2024

Abstract

This article aims to study the overview of the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) results for public sector agencies at the national level during the fiscal years 2020-2024. ITA serves as an important tool for promoting good governance and preventing corruption in the public sector. Data analysis reveals that the national average score increased continuously from 67.90 points in 2020 to 93.05 points in 2024, reflecting significant development in the integrity and transparency of government agencies. The ITA assessment comprises data from three components: internal stakeholder perception measurement, external stakeholder perception measurement, and public information disclosure measurement. The assessment results have led public sector agencies to prioritize the use of technology to enhance administrative efficiency, develop electronic platforms, and systematically disclose information to a greater extent. Meanwhile, citizens have played an increasingly important role in monitoring and overseeing government operations. Therefore, ITA is not only a tool for assessing integrity and transparency, but also serves as a crucial mechanism for elevating government performance and promoting public administration that is more transparent, fair, and accountable.
