Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to identify the effectiveness of nursing triage guideline emergency patient triage at emergency department of Phaholponpayuhasena Hospital before and after using the clinical practice guideline. Data collecting was carried on from 1 November 2021 to 30 April 2022. Participants were 24 registered nurses working in the emergency department, Paholpolpayusana Hospital who were trained using the developed the clinical practice guideline for patient triage. Research outcomes were a correction of 488 patients screening before (244 patients) and after (244 patients) implementation of the patient triage guideline. Tools using for this study research were 1.The nursing triage guideline 2.The assessment test for evaluate the effective of working performance when using the nursing triage guideline,The data analysis used frequency, percentage, and paired Samples test by t-test.

The results showed thatemergency patient classification Before using the guideline for correct separation, 81.6% by separating lower than the severity of the patients 7.0 percent higher than the severity of the patients 6.9% after use guideline 96.3% sorted, 1.6% were lower than the severity of the patients, 2.0% were higher than the severity of the patients. The comparison between the patients groups pre and post using nursing triage guideline, have the difference result, statistic significantly (p<0.05)

From the above result we can see that the nursing triage guideline can be use as a tools for screening the emergency patient incidence, more effectively
