Factors Affecting the Development and Hospital Accreditation in the Ministry of Public Health in Hospital Phetchaburi Province

Abstract

This survey research aimed to study factors affecting the development and hospital accreditation in the Ministry of Public health in hospital Phetchaburi province and aimed to study the problems for finding solutions to develop hospital accreditation. The sample, 361 officers at hospital in the Ministry of Public Health in hospital Phetchaburi province were selected by systematic sampling. The research tool was a questionnaire about factors affecting hospital quality development and certification and the results obtained from the development and accreditation of hospital quality. Determine the confidence of the questionnaire with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The confidence value for the entire issue was 0.90. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentages, mean, standard deviation and reference statistics classification of variable groups by factor analysis and multiple regression analysis.  The results are as follows: Leadership, participation, empowerment/ motivation and training have positive influence on the success of hospital accreditation. This research could predict the outcome of the hospital accreditation 50.20 percent. And the most common problem is not enough personnel, followed by the work load, lack of morale, lack of cooperation from staff, shortages of budget and instruments. Moreover, the respondents to questionnaire comment on the suggestions/solutions column in the development and quality assurance. The recommendation is to increase the manpower, followed by increasing knowledge to improve the quality and increase incentives for staff, respectively.
